Schuylkill Valley Wrestling 2009 3rd Place Team State Medalist   Schuylkill Valley Wrestling 08-09 Our very accomplished wrestling team finished third in the state in the PIAA AA team wrestling tournament. We defeated the top ranked team in the state, Bedford High School, in the quarter-finals then lost our semi-final match to Shady Side Academy by 3 points (one decision) BUT we came back through in the consolation bracket to defeat Bermudian Springs and then Bedford AGAIN to take the bronze medal.  Then Southeast Regionals at Wilson and more of the same -- Team Championship and 6 wrestlers qualifying to compete at the PIAA Individual Wrestling Tournament at Hershey Giant Center on March 5-7. The Panther Mat Club is very proud to extend its congratulations to the 6 wrestlers who qualified for States. The Panther Mat Club is even prouder to send Congratulations to Colin Shober who took THE GOLD at 135 lbs. in the 2009 PIAA State Wrestling Tournament  And
last but far from least, The Panther Mat Club is very proud to extend our
congratulations to Nate Giorgio who wrestled his way into 8th place among a very
tough weight class at 103. Keep up the good work Nate. You have 2 years yet
